Richtersveld Municipality invites reputable companies to submit proposals for the Port Nolloth Seawater Desalination Plant: 1,5ml per day, Boot process (Seawater Desalination Plant and General Works). Proposals will include the following phases of the project: • Desalination Plant: A proposal for the design, built and installation of 1,5ml per day Seawater Desalination Plant at Port Nolloth, including the abstraction point from a beach collector-wells system. Pre-treatment, reverse osmosis treatment, disinfection, handling of effluent and the discharge of brine into the sea. • General Works: The work entails civil works, including site preparation, construction of raw water earth-built ponds with HDPE lining, a building with a concrete roof to host the plant and other facilities and a 1.5ml concrete reservoir. The construction of a pump station building, the installation of pipelines, electrical supply, mechanical work, pump installation and minor works are also part of the general works. • Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT): A proposal to provide funding to the project and to enter into an agreement with the municipality for the build, own, operate and transfer of the facility to the municipality.
