Phosphate Mine Agreement

"Traditional owners have reached an agreement over a new phosphate mine in the Territory.
The Central Land Council, Arruwurra Aboriginal Corporation and Minemakers will sign the deal for the Wonarah mine in Tennant Creek today.
The mine to cost several hundred million dollars to get started has an estimated resource of one billion tonnes and a 100-year life. Phosphate is a key ingredient of fertiliser and worldwide demand was expected to soar.
Perth based Minemakers said it planned to build a Rail line from the mine to join the Darwin-Adelaide line near Tennent Creek. A Gas pipeline from Tennent Creek to power the mine. Atransport hub at Tennent Creek. A Fertiliser and phosphate plant in Darwin. Minemakers expects to export three million tonnes of phosphate a yea".
