EXCALIBUR’S drilling program on its local leases is continuing with the company recently completing a 700 metre-deep diamond drill hole below Nobles Nob.
The Australian resources company, which has invested heavily in the Tennant Creek goldfields, believes it has broken new ground with its latest work.
Excalibur’s Matt Sullivan, says to the best of his knowledge the targets have never been drilled before.
“We have more holes to drill at Nobles Nob, but for now have moved the diamond rig to drill the M10 deposit, which lies about 150 metres below Juno,” he said.
“There was a small amount of drilling done in the 1970s in this area by Peko, but this was drilled from underground.
“Unfortunately this mine is now closed and so we have to drill from the surface.
“We have also drilled at the old Rising Sun mine and a couple of holes at an area called Nobles Nob West and are currently waiting on the results.”
Mr Sullivan said he and his team were very grateful for the support of many people around town, some of whom have gone out of their way to help.
People such as Justin Hankinson from Emmerson Resources, as well as the management and staff of Barkly Plumbing, Dexter Barnes Electrical, Orlando Furniture, the management and staff of the Food Barn, Barkly Agencies, Tennant Creek Service Station, Safari Lodge – Thrifty Agents, Leading Edge Computers, Little Rippers Discount, Ian Slade Engineering, Talice Security, True Value Hardware and BP – Tennant Creek have all helped to make things a lot easier for us and deserve a big thanks,” he said.
