Furthermore ICU beds for Covid patients are in a purpose built (or rebuilt) areas. It will take time if you are going to add more ICU beds dedicated to Covid patients only. Not to mention the added staff you need to treat those patients - I suspect they will need one-to-one care (just a guess on my part).

Secondly, NSW have not implemented a Full Hard Lockdown. There are still circa 45 to 50 community transmission every day even after 1 month of lockdown This means the either the lockdown is NOT a Full Lockdown or People are simply flouting the Lockdown laws.

Whatever the reason, it is still causing the community spread. So you need to consider the worst case scenario - ie each person who was infectious whilst in the community is expected to spread it to 3 to 5 individuals - whether family or friends.

And each day they are out in the community and not under quarantine, they can spread it to another 3 to 5 individuals.

This Virus spread very quickly: at one point in time, the US didn't think they would be overwhelmed by cases, ICU and ventilators. But they were and it led to 3,000 plus deaths a day.

Lets hope it does not happen here.

We currently have 40 people in NSW in ICU. 40.

Sydney case numbers are steady and will start to drop once the effects of the lockdown are felt more. What's the obsession with people pushing the ridiculous fear? There's no logic in it.
