18 cases in serious or critical at the moment.
Less than 1% of total cases. Keep your eye out.
Because before this latest outbreak. Since Jan 1 this year . There was only 1 fatality in 6 months and hundreds of cases.
We have a very low fatality rate here now in Australia.
Not sure why. Because 90% still not vaccinated and a month back it was more like 95%.
just looked at Italy's covid fatality rate over the last 4 months and its a stagering 2.5% of positive cases. Way out there.

I think it is about capacity. If you have too many cases the system becomes overwhelmed - then equipment and humans needed to support those in hospital get stretched, attention is reduced and mistakes more likely. We’ve never got to that point
