Apparently Xinwen have already made some inroads with UCG in the past. Not sure of the outcome of these, but maybe they need LNC's technology through the proposed joint venture to get their process working. It might be a quickfire way for LNC to produce some cashflow, as a lot of the gas pipeline infrastructure is being or has been already built by the Chinese and the necessary approvals for UCG are already in place.
benbo, I reckon that the Chinese probably will develop their own plants in time. Xinwen has coal, LNC has the know how, for now its a quickfire way to get cheap fuel. I found a few things on the Erzhuang UCG Station, which Xinwen own but they are a few years old now. Does anybody know any details on Xinwens foray into UCG?
