Obvious they've been white anted and their own diligence is a contributing factor (IMO).
White anted by a major is my thought and maybe one they thought were freinds?
International court is a long shot and a costly drawn out one. Pressure by majors would be the go but if those majors, who already have a presence, are silent then what does that say?
So who could be the white night?

Great opportunity for him with Burundi being a recognised world class deposit and the balls to take it up to the majors, new best freind James Packer having seen, and missed out on, the FMG success could also lend a hand here.
