To be honest, I think by the time (if ever) Magnis is operating as a battery manufacturer, the lithium + graphite combo/tech could be old news. Considering MNS probably won’t be a serious producer for at least 10 years, and that’s being generous.
There are so many new battery technologies being developed. From where I’m standing, graphene is the future. Look at companies like Graphenano in Europe or even FGR here on the ASX.
We’re talking batteries that last multiple times longer than lithium batteries, and can be fully charged in a few minutes as opposed to hours. Plus no degradation over the life of the battery (10,000 cycles in some cases).
I see the argument for private equity keeping their powder dry and avoiding new lithium battery projects. If a casual onlooker like myself knows about some of this newer, better tech, then I’d imagine those guys are neck deep in research and investment proposals.
