People are weird...so many people want to watch horror and will pay good money for it.
Given the choice they pay to be scared or shocked rather than thrilled or happy.
I just don't get it.
As for the Mr Edwards.
I believe like Vaya and Stom that a lot of these people can actually read certain thoughts. That is what they pick up on...menatl telepathy. Thye are not great at it but pick up certain bits and then add the rest with trickery.
I remember reading one of JE's first books and he said that his 'guides' wouldn't allow him to ever charge any more than he was charging for a reading...around $120.00 from memory because that provided a comfortable income for his family and to seek more would be an abuse. The latest I heard some time back is that he is booked out 3 years in advance and charges a minimum of $600.00 per reading.
I guess with all the wealth he upgraded his 'guides'.
I do belive there is something in him but the showman has won out.
