keep an eye on it.
plenty of good news just around the corner (tfe) Territory Iron
is up and running.
opened at a premium......
keep a close eye on it..
possible uranium connection as well..
comments welcomed from people with mining experience
(TFE) is a minerals exploration company with four main projects in the Northern Territory, with varying degrees of prospectability. These are the Frances Creek, Rum Jungle, Mt Bundey and Warrego projects.
FRANCES CREEK PROJECT: located about 200 km south of Darwin and 20 km from the Alice Springs to Darwin railway, this project is considered to be of good to excellent prospectivity for iron mineralisation. The Inferred Mineral Resource estimate is 3 416 000 tonnes at 61.5% Fe.
RUM JUNGLE PROJECT: located about 100 km south of Darwin within 25 km of the Alice Springs to Darwin railway, the project contains exploration targets of iron mineralisation, including a higher grade component at Yarram, and a number of iron outcrops within a geological setting considered prospective for the discovery of further iron mineralisation. A southwest dipping Lower Proterozoic sedimentary sequence underlies the area with three hematite lodes known in the east and one in the north with both probably extending a considerable distance in a westerly direction. Iron contents of the lodes range up to 63.4%.
MT BUNDEY PROJECT: is located about 100 km southeast of Darwin adjacent to the Arnhem Highway. Haematite has been mined previously from the Mt Bundey area. The Company proposes to undertake an exploration program on the tenements in order to test a number of aeromagnetic anomalies with potential for Mt Bundey style iron ore. The tenements surround the old Mount Bundey martite and magnetite skarn iron deposit that was mined during 1968 to 1971 for some 843 000 tonnes of production at a grade of 63.43% iron, 0.057% phosphorus and 0.108% sulphur.
WARREGO PROJECT: located about 50 km northwest of Tennant Creek and about 800 km south of Darwin, the project contains in the order of 10 million tonnes of tailings from past gold mining activities. The Company plans to undertake further studies to determine the viability of re-treating the tailings to produce a marketable magnetite product. Preliminary mineral processing testwork on samples of four of the tailings dam materials
overall produced a 62.3% iron concentrate at a recovery of around 71% of the contained iron.
