The core of the problem is (and always has been) the ancient sick childish argument over who has the better imaginary friend. Regardless whether Christian, Jew or Muslim (and the multitudes of competing sects and cults deriving from them) the problem started by forcing destructive fairy tales on innocent vulnerable children and compounded by a societal system that encourages resulting adults to embrace the group delusion as fact. Religion is nothing but a socially acceptable bandage to wrap various degrees of mental illness in its membership - The classic example is the line “Fill the God-Shaped hole in your heart” used to pull in suspectable victims who should have actually been treated for Clinical Depression. Only through the full emancipation of women, continual improvement in living standards and teaching children critical and scientific analysis (in schools freed from dogma) will future generations have a chance to remove the scourge of this addictive easy-answers fantasy world and the resulting damage done in its name.
