Disagree entirely blooreeler, altho I like the sentiment in ur post, and altho no lover or hater of the NRA, I think some in the NRA have a point when they suggest that only certain well trained police have guns and NOT all of them.

Police have the tendency to lose their guns: the NYPD lose a heap of them and so do the LAPD and the Chicago Police.

It is a good thing that the Met and English Police Forces do not have guns as that minimizes the amount of guns in the wrong hands.

Perhaps New Zealand, Australia and Canada as well as the U.S. and old/new Europe would be safer if they reduced the guns in the community or stolen and unaccounted for by not giving them to every single copper that comes out of cop school?
