It's a timely reminder from our top Federal Government anti-spy agency that the threat of terrorist atacks on OZ are far from over. We must not become complacent.From today's Australian:

SPY agencies are investigating hundreds of potential terrorist threats to Australia, the head of ASIO has said.
David Irvine made the statement at the opening of a new counter terrorism centre which he said would better co-ordinate counter-terrorism efforts among government agencies.

He also reminded the audience of the lethal threat posed to Australia by terrorists, claiming the danger was still very real and ?directed against Australia?.

?Al Qaeda and those who share its distorted ideology continue to see Australia as a legitimate target for mass casualty attacks,? Mr Irvine said.

?I can tell you? that ASIO and its partners at this very time are investigating hundreds of ... counter terrorism related matters which could impact directly on the security of Australia.? etc.etc.
