simonj, I know you do not believe this but try to put your self in the shoes of the Apostles.
You spend 3yrs years wandering around Israel with this preacher called Jesus. You see him taken, tried and crucified so you know he is dead, he even has a spear wound in his side. Then three days later his tomb is empty and some time later you meet him and he eats fish with you.
Try to imagine it, what effect would it have on you? Would it not transform you? Would it not make you realise that there must be a resurrection? Death is not the end of it?
As I say, you do not believe it, like so many others here, but just try to imagine. Then you might understand what makes Christianity tick because that is what Christians believe.
