Clearly it would be sensible to have all plugs the same - but that would likely mean 'same as the normal plug in each separate country'. If carmakers have a different plug from that used for everything else in a given country, all is not lost. Each owner would simply need to cary the appropriate conversion plug - like travellers travelling to Europe or USA etc have done forever.
