Single Crystal Cathode is not in itself a patented technology, it has been an aspiration for battery makers for some time.

What Novonix has new is DPMG to manufacture the Cathode materials in a comparatively simple process, without water or solvents, environmentally kinder and with a bonus of lower cost.
In my opinion, anyone claiming a million mile battery is indeed using Single Crystal Cathode, but DPMG will give them a competitive advantage, and a further improved SCC.
