This news caught my ear too and I'm interested how they plan to do it. I suspect it may be for their lowest cost new variants and not where they are after performance. Remember Tesla are focusing on low cost in their next generation gear so just like LFP batteries and nickle in their higher performance cars, requirements for the strongest most efficient motors will still exist imho.
