Market (retail) always overreact to these kind of news. I'm a big fan of Elon (disclosure, I've been a TSLA buyer the past couple of months), but things to keep in mind: REE free Tesla cars is a long term vision at this stage, and it always takes longer that what Elon is saying.
But more importantly, it's good to keep things in perspective: even if Tesla magically overnight went REE free, we are talking about ~800t less yearly NdPr demand. That is equivalent of perhaps 1.5% of current global production - in a market that is growing by a CAGR around 8-10%...
