If only my power bill was only 850-900 PA

We have a 7 and often 8 person household, our adult kids and some of their partners

Last years total power bill was over 3k before discounts

We also have a spa and sauna, which I would like to use more of
but I'm too tight to make full use of, now hopefully can enjoy them more

We will have a supply charge, but that will partly be covered by the FIT

What I am doing at present is trying to use as much solar as I can, to offset
other costs, like running the RC A/C in leiu of the ducted gas heater
in the mornings from the battery, before it starts charging again

You could probably look at a small solar system, you can pick one up
for 3k or less these days, all depends on your FIT and whether you
can make full use of the solar when its there, eg use timers to run
high use appliances, or if you are home during the day or at work

Working out the financial benefits of solar/batteries is a bit like
comparing hospital or phone plans...almost impossible

Spending a few K on a medium solar system would probably
be financially compelling though in most instances

    cheers
