Now that everybody has finished creaming their pants over the newest Tesla shiny, a question over if it is actually possible with current tech for the battery pack.

Is it correct to have a public release based on projected improvement on expected battery tech development over the next two years.

Is this the equivalent of a lie (like diesel gate) or is it not a lie if omitted?

They just forgot to say ...........when we figure it out.

Great if (when) it is true...Once the fuel tank is sorted.

Or we need a ten fold increase in battery density, plus nuclear power supplying the demand increase & we are off.

Don't forget the impending renewalable ecological disaster impending us in 20 to 30 years time as billions & billions of solar panels need replacement (or operate at a sub standard level). Not exactly a free pass to recycling or an ecological benefit.

We need to look more at the cradle to grave scenario before filling Elons Boots & claiming him to be the messiah.

Renewables have nowhere the critical mass or base load requirement to meet demand if we are going to move to full electric.

(FWIW - tech will eventually get us there) or we go back to the cave & whilst mankinds bum points to the ground we will always look for ways to 'improve' our life style needs.
