Major culture shifts in companies is happening everywhere you turn and its exactly old people like you that are set in their ways in jobs for 30 years they want to move on....FACT!
No offence mate but I work with old, stubborn, set in their old ways blokes and I see them being moved on because they just don't get it! Mining companies in particular are all about technology, innovation and efficiency in this new age and are rapidly moving on people like you to make way to new age personnel.
Hate to say it but your Truckie job is going to be made redundant in the coming years with destruptive tech. Look what happened to the taxi industry with uber!
