You would think that 10,000nm would be enough to pull the B doubles etc with no problem. Add in extra battery capacity, either in-built to prime mover or trailers themselves, and you would have enough range for the combinations or even push the range out.
The transport and logistics industry is pretty good at being as optimized as possible, and the industry is currently being made more efficient due to spread of new and emerging tech. Combine fast charging or top ups at the unload point, scheduling to support charging, trailers with batteries being charged while being loaded, some solar panels for a couple of extra per cent, and the range and load issues don't seem insurmountable.
If there is a way the industry can lower their costs by a couple of per cent by using EV trucks, they will make it happen.
