To say that it won't happen in this life time I think is quite ignorant. Yes infrastructure is an issue and yes it will likely take Australia longer to make the transition as this country, as amazing as it is, is so far behind the curve compared to other developed countries when it comes to embracing change and adopting new technology (embarrassingly so). However, there will come a time when it simply won't be economically viable for ICEs to try and compete with EVs. The additional costs incurred in running a fleet of ICE vehicles will eat into the profit margins of a business, forcing the transition to EVs IOT remain competitive. I think we will see this happening within the next 10-15 years in Australia & much much sooner in more forward thinking countries.
