Whether just slick marketing or true scientific/technical advantage, I saw a YouTube video recently which explained the ways in which Tesla battery packs for the model 3 are designed to deal with heat of pack which seemed just so logical in hindsight I wondered why the other manufacturers were not doing likewise. Aspects such as liquid cooling circuit surrounding cells in the pack circulating to radiators, cabin heaters to remove heat from packs but then also circuits set to run electrical components just to generate “waste” heat so that the same coolant could be directed via those components and warm battery packs when temperature too low for optimal battery activity.
