Actually! Elon expects Tesla energy to be about a similar size to Tesla automotive. Tesla automotive is aiming for 20 million vehicles per annum(~2TWh's), which would be about 10-15% of all automotive sales worldwide in 2035, if current trends hold. So total Tesla requirements for batteries when at maturity will be around 4TWh's.

Total battery requirements for 100% renewable world = ?
But considering Elon is thinking Tesla energy will be equal to automotive then we could say the requirement for grid storage batteries will be similar to automotive. Because, he knows more about the numbers than any of us.
Therefore, the total annual output of batteries required for a 100% renewable and EV world ~ 30TWh's. About 100X where we are now.
I think that is a reasonable assumption.
