The ASX report states that:

" After testing of the upper zone is completed, the sliding sleeve can be reconfigured to recommence testing of the lower zone".

OK! the book may not have been thrown away, just dog eared on the page about testing the lower zone at a later date because of delays / difficulties with the water removal etc.

No suggestion from me that the experts were wrong in testing the lower zone first; but, with the difficulties they were having, there has been a change of tactics - a logical change by the experts and as you suggest "not from a coin toss, arm wrestle or cockroach race"
