Thanks for helping to make the point that the Brisbane storm is not a financial killer because of the risk spread across the country and NZ. Figures quoted today by the Insurance Council say $500M but this includes a lot of infrastructure which is Govt owned. The bill for Sun looks like being in the order of $100M

I totally agree with you that a top dollar price was paid for Promina and Sun has achieved zilch in synergy benefits. In fact, they have probably destroyed value.

Nevertheless, these brands will probably make good profits for the first half of 08/09 althought if sun had paid less for Promina and added more value things would be rosier.

As for the bank - Who knows!!!!
