The key to production costs is very simple-volume and infrastructure-so cos like Arq and tap with Harriet are at the very cheap end of the curve as they can add incrementally and keep reducing the per barrel cost. Tap announces its latest production and profit report on 22 July- I am expecting that Varanus island will see costs per barrel at about $10 for an offshore well.
Arqs costs are not really known but it is somewhere around $7 is my guess. This will come down for every bolt on discovery and also will come down if other jvs want to use the plant at Hovea.
