You are quite right, if a takeover is going to happen then it will only happen once the reserves are proven!

I had a very long conversation yesterday with a particular person that deals directly with the big gas companies and he confirmed this. He also mentioned that BG DO NOT have enough gas yet and will be buying more companies once their reserves are proven, however he did not know which companies they are looking at.

He also said that there is going to be major consolidation of the CSG industry. All players agree that there is only room for 2 major players.

I found this statement very interesting due to the fact that there are some big companies in this industry,
ie
BG
Shell/Arrow
Santos
Origin
just to name a few.
I can't see any of these disappearing, however I can see some supplying the domestic market and the others focusing on the export market!
