In defence of dma I really enjoy reading his posts and am very grateful for the amount of info he has provided in relation to TETS and VCR in general.

TETS is extremely important. It will be a crucial strategy in overtaking Thoratec to become the No.1 worldwide player and also to increase market acceptance of LVADs. Anything that increases patient comfort and flexibility will enhance acceptance of the product.
My opinion is that VCR is very good at thinking strategically. They're not just thinking about the next FY. They want to be no. 1 is another 3 years or so!
Their R&D costs are higher now as a result but it will pay off sooner than we think.
