The FDA doesn't give a rat's ass what's released. They are a government agency that requires companies to demonstrate standards of manufacturing quality, product safety and efficacy. Any interim data points for example, on a study, are specified in advance by the company. Any data revealed at those points is at the company's discretion. One could mount a case as to whether revealed data should be disclosed to the market.
As for fast tracking: I didn't shout you down, though of course, the truth is more prosaic. The fact is, that fast tracking can be requested by any company, and many companies whose products fit the target criteria get accepted.
And whilst I'm here, and frankly, slightly pissed: your dissing of Madamswer's description of the issues around proportional takeover was pure sour grapes.
