I've just now received a response from HDR's investor relations person to an email I sent regarding the Tevet Deep "operational difficulties" and the sidetrack. There was nothing "new" in it in terms of news but it did clarify that the operator has had to sever the drillstring and cement off the wellbore. And the sidetrack will satrt from close to the 9 and 5/8 inch casing shoe at 3041m. They will be proceeding carefully and with 900m to go it looks like well into next week for results.
The reponse was not from Dean but from someone new (standing in for Dean perhaps) who seems to be on top of the technical drilling stuff which was reassuring.
Given the above ... today's rise can be seen primarily as a recovery from being oversold by short-termers and perhaps optimism that they may have found something (as well as following the market and sector rises).
Cheers
