I agree that shorters can have a very significant impact on slightly negative news. As you have hinted, this could happen to TFC. The reverse can also happen. The shorters all rush to the other side of the boat to cover their positions because news is positive.
I don't know what will happen. But I hold my shares because I like well managed companies that have very good long term prospects.
