This is the only time when I sold almost all of the stock. In the past I sold various percentages like your plan. Its a safer way protecting against a price surge.

However I decided to sell most of my stocks on the 28th of December using "the time to get out of the way" theory. Only kept and topped up on gold miners. So far so good with the strategy. TFC, ACX, IPD HSN , NAN all down just to name a few. While the miners EVN, NST & WGX are doing nicely so far.
If they continue to rise to mid next week I'll take some profit as I think that there will be a pull back for several days. If I'm lucky I'll be able to buy back in at lower prices.
