On a holiday in the Kimberleys I visited the Kununurra plantation 28 July and observed the harvest underway in the company of a manager. This year's harvest is expected to produce 300 tonnes of heartwood from a 100 hectare plot of 15 year-old trees. I think the oil recovery rate is targeted to be something over 3%, yielding approx 10 tonnes of oil. If the yield target is met we can rejoice but the results of the harvest cannot possibly be made available until closer to the end of the year. Patience is necessary.
