Personally i think stem cells are a pipe dream. I put them in the same category as genetics, which everyone thought was going to solve all our health problems 30 yrs ago. There is a lot of hype to generate more funding.

50,000 LVADs a year is a very long way off. Even if there's a need for this many LVADs not everyone will be able to afford them. Good thing VCR are breaking into the US, lots of wealthy sick people ha ha....
