TGA REGULATORY APPROVAL FOR CARDANAL PREDICTIVE INDEX
IM Medical (ASX: IMI) today advises that the software for the company’s Cardanal
Predictive Index has regulatory approval through the Australian Therapeutic Goods (Medical
Devices) Regulations 2002.
The CEO of IM Medical, Mr. Tommas Bonvino, said the approval paves the way for the
Australian launch of the index which provides cardiologists with faster and more reliable tools
to diagnose heart conditions.
The approval of the index follows last month’s approval by the Therapeutic Goods
Administration of the data management platform for IM Medical’s Cardanal technology.
Cardanal allows cardiologists to transmit high-quality data in the form of ECG waves over the
Internet in real time, clearing the way for remote diagnosis of heart problems.
IM Medical acquired the Cardanal ECG software technology earlier this year. It has been
developed in Melbourne over 18 years of research.
The Cardanal technology will be marketed worldwide, with an initial focus on hospitals and
specialist medical practices.
The Cardanal Predictive Index will be incorporated into IM Medical’s Intelliheart tests which
are conducted in medical clinics across Australia and increasingly used by companies to
assess the health of their workers.
Mr Bonvino said: “We will also be marketing Intelliheart through the retail sector as part of
our growth strategy based on new products and new markets.”
