Hi All
I read this morning that the TGA proposes over-the-counter sales of CBD products.
The TGA has announced an interim decision to reclassify cannabidiol (CBD) products so they can be purchased over the counter at pharmacies.
The TGAs provisional ruling entails the down-scheduling of low dose CBD products from Schedule 4 to 3 of the Poisons Schedule. This means that companies can apply to register their applicable products to be available through a pharmacist without the need for a prescription.
Only oral, sublingual, and oral muscosal will be permitted excluding smoking and vaping.
The CBD product must have max recommended dose of 60milligrams with only a 30day supply to be dispensed in one unit. Not available on shelves to allow pharmacists to ensure consumers are aware of any potential interactions with other medications.
Just goes to show what a bunch of hypocrites the TGA are for disallowing ArTiMist
