EW tries to make allowances for all sorts of complications, lol.
An X wave is what seperates two zigzags or ABC's.
So you get an ABC zigzag then a counter move and then another ABC zigzag all in the same direction.
It can also be a 3-3-3 pattern. And then you can have a 3-3-5 pattern so all sorts of permutations that explain almost anything, lol.
The initial move in 1938 is a beautiful 5 wave upward impulse move, but the subsequent moves need interpreting as containing running corrrections or some such permutations.
I used to be a big EW fan but although I still look at taht aspect, I don't place too much emphasis on it these days.
