If anyone reads the history of early last century and in fact any century, then you can see that the buy and holders of this world are eventually wiped out.
It is such a good tactic for a long time but eventually is in the end their downfall.
Those that sell out before the obvious are the ones with the cash to gobble up the bargains.
If you hold on all the way down, you have no purchasing power.
Fundamentals are valid but few can see the fundamentals until too late.
It becomes as simple as being a student of human behaviour, which is also mirrored in earlier market action.
It is never different this time in the macro sense.
It is different enough that it is different from last time and it is different from "in living memory".
I am not saying now is one of those times, just a discussion on buy and hold.
