"but as many say on this trivial forum, stop dreaming...."

jd - I for one have absolutely no problem with 'dreaming'! It's the stuff of live and gives us forward momentum - something to aim for.

But hyperbole and/or obfuscation are different matters!

You can dream from a position of high risk or low risk or medium risk.

Some here are pretending (either deliberately or naively) that the dream of riches here is just a waiting game - that the risks are negligible or non-existent and that patience will win the day.

Well, of course, its not that simple. There are still many hurdles.

But, despite these hurdles, we can certainly dream about the potential 'good life' to come.

But lets not negligently muddy the waters in a way that has the potential to take many of the less experienced (those with nfi or a tendency to fall in love with stocks) to their ruin. I have seen it happen over and over again over many years.

For every gorgeous success there are several others that take people down.

These people, of course, are ultimately responsible for their own decisions but I think there is still something rather unsavory about those with more guile and cunning 'separating fools from their money'.
