    don't take anything. Not even a toothbrush. You can buy anything there including your plug converter, which i bought at the supermarket for about $3. Power board is a good idea. Clothes are dirt cheap and good quality, eg, levi's for about $40. Books are fairly cheap and there are some great bookshops around Silom. The beer is cheap but wine is not so cheap. If you go to Soi Cowboy there is a happy hour until 9pm at a lot of the places. If you shout one of the ladies they are not happy hour prices but still cheap and they seemed more genuine than in phatpong.

    Bags etc, are just crappy imitations. Bought a North face bag but it didn't make it through the journey before falling apart.

    I know I'm lucky to live in Australia but I wish Oz was a bit more Asian. Anyway lucky to have it on our doorstep. The culture is so different.
