It would be nice to see the ABC create programs that reflect the center of politics, not only programs today cast in lonely isolation and in ignorant arrogance against the middle of the societal bell curve of majority of Australian life.
I am not interested/impressed in viewing harder left political expression constantly, which is most often what is dished up, hard left environmental zealot, hard left political views are so dumbed down today it's modernly insulting with the quality of contrasting information available on the net.
We get too much elitist propaganda from the stereotypical elitist journalistic types that infests the ABC.
I like comedy on the ABC, I like the kids shows (or more precisely my child does), I like the finance shows...some bits of them, I like Historical documentary's.
I like iveiw...like silk it is and has been since almost the first day....which was not the standard streaming experience net-wide earlier on.
Nostalgia is not enough anymore when the majority content is lacking fuller community value or interest...for golly sake we had Trivoli comparing a finance/stock market program yesterday!
If the ABC will not allow relevance to the majority of Aussies in their programing/ideological choice then it need to go....the industry will do better and give more rounded reporting from programs publicly funded but put to wider industry tender...if the output/view/concepts/ideology from these public funds is worth viewing stations will bid/program for them on a free market model...any old rubbish today ends up being broadcast on the ABC for it seems no better reason but to fulfill a free public money contract and because the ABC created it.
Public money is too precious to squander modernly, a national broadcaster without a national number of individuals/in relevance as it's audience is outside charter.
It's today an EH Holden put on a pedestal with only the viewed as idiotic arty farty and self considered elitists milling around below...wine, cheese squares and cucumber sandwiches in hand.
By all means these types might create their own free market modeled lefty TV...they will survive worthy at their job.
