well it only seems fair that the people who make these "brilliant" investment decisions, get to be rewarded for their expertise. apparently some of the finacial instruments that were conjured up, are fairly difficult to understand, so that must be worth something. the fact that it seems to have brought the finacial system to its knees is of minor consequence
