A good point depending on how you define "square one"
It does seem that the Israeli strategy is to kill as many of the leadership of the terrorist squads as they can and destroy as much of the infrastructure of terror that teh terrorists have embedded into the Palestinian communities...
So not exactly back to square one as it takes time for new leaders to emerge, get experience and get smart enough to hide behind women and children while conducting their terror operations and time for the reconstitution of the terror infrastructure....
All this time is used for the Israelis to develop, test, manufacture and deploy better and more effective anti-terror weaponry and tactics like their 90% effective Iron Shield, which serves as a testing-ground, proof-of-concept and marketing vehicle for these products...
You have to remember that all governments are expecting that terrorism in an urban setting is likely to be the prime battle-ground of the future...
I guess that the Palestinians set themselves up unwittingly to be a real-life/live-fire testing ground and the Israelies have not choice but to continue with the deadly game the Palestinians are playing ...
