I disagree. Australians are inherently conservative by nature.... witness the landslide in 2013 and Howard's long tenure. What is missing is the right leader.
If conservatism means a steady hand, economic rationalism, increasing productivity and a strong economy, then I believe that's exactly what Australia has been yearning for since Howard was ousted.
Conservative values - as you put it - are the cornerstone of our society, the same values the vast majority of us incorporate into the family values we teach our children. To say those values are gone is simply wrong.
