A lot of renewable energy stocks are down a bit this week - I wonder if it's related to the government deciding to link the CPRS bill to the manadated renewables bill. I personally think this will not work effectively to wedge Turnbull/Joyce/Fielding but will instead lead to both bills being rejected. The price to be paid for a plausible double dissolution trigger might well be an interruption to the building momentum in renewables. What a pity that this area is so emotive and so replete with unknowns that it can be used so easily for political point scoring. Sad to say we are unlikely to see any sort of bipartisan support for sane renewables infrastructure development until it is much too late.
