Oil is being used faster than it is being created (naturally, anyway), and alternative/renewable sources are still a long way off from mainstream uptake, let alone total replacement. The one benefit of the worldwide oil industry being a...reasonably corrupt and politically invested one...is your investment in their game. Too many huge companies and players in it for oil to be replaced before they're even close to depleting reserves of it. As a finite resource, this says to me that, whether in a year or 50 years, the price of oil will not be staying this low. And one way or another, that HRZ shale is going to be pumped one day.
