It is fashionable to blame the govt of the day for any perceived current problem ... understandable even.
However power/energy infrastructure probems has dna attached to it from many successive Lib/Lab govts, fed and state over decades.
Gettinng it right with energy policy requires long term planning and vision ... two things that typical govt's don't possess.
Right now you have both major parties, and the Greens pretty much being fashionable by saying no to coal, gas, hydro, wind solar and of course nuclear ... and yet minister or parliamentary member is recommending we curb our energy consumption ... and as a nation of 20 mill we can't even brief them properly as to what we want ... there's your true disconnect.
