seb256, may I suggest some Self Help books, you seem to be in the grips of "Am I my brother's Keeper?" thought pattern.

Some people go through life walking down the middle of the road
To them, that's their life's highway,
But it's not my way,
The cliff edge is where you'll find me,
Taking the risks dreaming the dreams.

And my dream is to have a world full of people who can make decisons on their own!
